In 1959 George and Jean Martin purchased "Trans Canada Lodge" from Leo Menard. In 1960 it was decided to make a name change and "Forde Lake Lodge" immerged.

Forde Lake Air Services was born in 1964. After 46 years and many memories, in May 2005, George & Jean Handed the reins of Forde Lake Lodge Ltd. over to their children Wynne, Jeff and Jim. Today the continue to operate the business and carry on the tradition of providing outposts and amenities that can be enjoyed by anyone.
BEING STRUCK BY THE TRAGIC FIRE/ARSON ON MOTHERS DAY MAY 2006 TO THE MAIN BUILDING, AN AREA ICON KNOWN LOCALLY AS “FORDE LAKE HOTEL” WAS REDUCED TO ASHES. WITH THAT THE RENOVATION TO THE NEW “CAMP” BEGAN. SO THE TRADITION CONTINUES!
